Inspection of a used vehicle

When looking to buy a used car, a pre-purchase inspection is important to ensure that you are buying a vehicle in good condition.

A used car inspection by our expert technicians includes a comprehensive assessment of the exterior and interior of the car, as well as a road test to evaluate its performance.

When performing the exterior inspection, we will check for any dents, scratches, rust or other signs of damage, check the tyres for tread depth, wear or signs of damage. Additionally, we will check for proper operation on the headlights, taillights, turn signals and other exterior lights.

Inside the car, the upholstery, carpets and other interior components will be checked for tears, stains or excessive wear, the dashboard for any warning lights that may be illuminated.

Also, the engine will be checked for any oil or coolant leaks, as well as unusual odours, oil and other fluid levels and topped off if needed. Similarly, the belts and hoses will be checked for signs of wear or damage, the battery for proper operation and the brakes for wear and proper operation.

Finally, a test drive will be conducted to evaluate vehicle performance, including acceleration, braking and handling.

In addition to the inspection, a vehicle history report will be obtained to check for any potential problems, such as past accidents or flood damage, etc. The report should also show any past service history and any recalls that may have been issued on the vehicle.
